Bikers Australia Footlong Dicerun '08
![]()
On Saturday the 25th of October, a beautiful
sunny day for a ride, Wildcats attended the Footlong Dicerun hosted by Bikers
Australia Gilgandra Branch at Coonamble. At the start of the day bikers came
from all directions – Gilgandra, Walgett, Dubbo, Coonabarabran, Coonamble and
Narromine to name a few.
Our day started at the BP in Gilgandra, where half a dozen bikes met up to make their way to Coonamble. All set off with great intention to fill up at Coonamble, where the local servo had offered a dollar a bike donation to the Footlong Dice Run cause. In usual form, before we even arrived a bike had run out of fuel – 10kms from our destination. Not mentioning any names, however William Brown was the unlucky, and red faced biker!!!
Sign ups and first dice roll were at the Commercial Hotel Coonamble, with more than 30 bikes turning out for the day. We then rolled out to head for Baradine for our first stop where the pub offered cold beer and a stretch of the legs.
Coonabarabran was next and we had a great feed for a better price – we highly recommend this stop to all. A big thanks to these guys for the donation of some great prizes too.
Next stop was Gilgandra at the Railway Hotel, hosted by Mick and Annette Long. Here we drew many prizes from stubby holders and shirts to bottles of wine and coasters. Congratulations to Mond who thought he was down on his luck until he heard his number called and all was made good.
For the last leg of the day we headed back to the Commercial at Coonamble, where there was over 50 prizes drawn once again. The lucky winner of the day was Donna Newton, with Rowdy and Nigel also receiving trophies for second and third. Kris, one of the newest Wildcat members, had an unlucky day and got the booby prize for lowest score.
Music followed provided by Eckles the Biker’s DJ and another great feed, a big thanks to the chef and Donna “Foot” for the BBQ and salads. Another big thanks is in order for “Foot” a Coonamble man who organised the day – great job.
Dee and Kris.
