A very chilly start led into a good run over to Gosford that saw me arriving at the Waterfront with plenty of time up my sleeve to take off enough cold weather riding gear to clothe a small family, and to transform from a hulking great biker into a 45 pound weakling.

Having gone from looking like Scott of the Antarctic, and attracting bemused looks from the locals, to an appearance more befitting the balmy Central Coast weather, I was then able to blend in with the crowd and start taking a couple of snapshots prior to Thommo calling us together to explain the ride rules for the run, and then to introduce us to Major Graham Mizon from the Salvation Army.

Major Mizon  mentioned that this sort of an event was a first for him and thanked us all for attending, he then offered a prayer for our safety and put a word in with the “Big Fella” for good weather, which I reckon worked real well because although rain was forecasted it turned into a great day.

So with the formalities over it was back to the bikes and with about 300 motors kicking in we frightened hell out of the local seagull population and fell in behind the police escort vehicles, Senior Constable Dave O’Shay had co-ordinated the run up to The Entrance and it was evident from the number of cars and police at various intersections, that he had put a lot of effort into getting us all there in one piece with a minimum of delays, and allowing us to remain in fairly large groups made for a impressive run which the public appreciated by coming out to the roadside to wave us on.

Arriving at The Entrance waterfront car park I unpacked a few cans of food and took them over to the Salvos collection truck and then meeting up with the rest of the Slopes and Plains Chapter members it was off to the pub for a couple of drinks before having a feed and returning to the park to listen to Spruce Goose, Scary Mary and Paradigm Constructions, these three bands had donated their time to the event, and along with all the people who had given the prizes for the raffles, trophies  and provided gear etc for the day, showed that charity really does begin at home.

With the afternoon drawing to a close it was time for the trophy presentations for some top notch bikes and cars that had been entered in the show and the drawing of the raffles, once again no luck for me, but I bet the winners were grinners because the prizes, as with all the AMC raffles, are more than well worth buying a few tickets in.

Having planned to go back home for the night I left the other members to continue on with the after run party and aimed the bike in a westerly direction, where, a few kilometres down the road the speedo clicked over the one hundred thousand mark.

Looking back at all involved at reaching that point, I don’t reckon I would change a single thing about the places I have been, the rallies and the runs and most importantly the people that I have met and ridden with. Heres looking forward to the next one hundred thousand…

Congratulations to the AMC and all involved in the making of another great day.

And over to Duds for the party report.

Well it took some sorting out to get there this time. Won't mention the big girl that said *don't go, you might get wet!*.....oh yeh wasn't going to mention him. Anyway, Fu rang and said a ride seemed like a good idea and well.....it's just un Australian to let a mate down. Our fearless leader was already in that part of the world and we needed a rear tyre on one bike as well as some electrical work on Saturday morning. Dudley (one of our preferred service providers) to the rescue and once again we were underway.

Rode in to find the Slopes and Plains were now well represented with 9 1/2 members. The 1/2 is nearly as long a story as her legs so won't go there, but damn she's pretty Coops!

So after some time at the park and enjoying the afternoon entertainment we decided to take a run to the Catho Pub for a quiet one and then it was back to the Surf Club to settle in for the night. A few pumps on the air mattress and a trip to the bottlo and we were set. Now, I know Crusty is going to be upset, but due to technical difficulties (drank too much coke), I didn't get any pictures of the night. I also know that a few ladies there are going to be happy this website hasn't got any of the aforementioned! Well fed, well lubricated and the band throwing out the vibes it was a great night all round! You couldn't wish for better company and that just adds up to a good time had by all!

The morning saw us heading back. We manhandled an injured Gina onto her bike (no sympathy here Gina, everyone told you to tuck ya ankles up round your ears pyjama girl!) and she headed home with a very swollen ankle...believed to be fractured....no boot on so it would have been a cold toe or two! We picked up an extra in Debra on her new Sporty and met up with Kaz and Crusty at Aberdeen for our combined monthly meeting/monthly day ride. Cyclone came along in the chapter's new backup vehicle looking very smart but copped a fine anyway for the extra wheels! Not as big a fine as the big girl fair weather rider is going to get though when we do finally catch up to him!

We parted company at the Willow Tree roadhouse and Fu and I made it home just before dark. Well worn and wondering when the next one was. All just too good!

NEWS FLASH

Oooooooooooooooooooooops!!!!!!! Just spoke to Gina! errrrrrr......have to eat humble pie.....poor girl has a fracture and it has to be glued and screwed! Interesting eh! You get plastered and hope to get glued and screwed but when you do you get plastered! Ok Camel Lady.....your forgiven for winging this time! You did good!
