All you had to do was follow the bike in front of you, and if you did, then you would have ended up at the Dungog Showground, for what has become probably the best rally on the east coast of our wide brown land. From Friday on, the bikes rolled in, and by Saturday there was bugger all camping area left. Friday night saw the club bus running a shuttle service to the Bank Hotel, which put on a band and served some good pub food, and then back to the club bar at the showground, where the prices were very reasonable. Naturally we paid dearly for it in the morning though!

Saturday dawned and what a day. The Trade Stall and food lane was packed with stallholders and the events got underway. All types of Motorcycles, Vintage Cars, Hot Rods, Custom Cars, and Utes lined up for a quality showing in every category and 3 bands pumped out the music from early in the day. The blues band was great and rumour has it it will be back. The cars and bikes smoked up the rubber on the newly constructed burnout pad come amphitheatre, and they gave us a display second to none. No-one was disappointed and there wasn't a single entry that didn't get the crowd yelling and cheering.

Well done Steve on your trike. He went round and round all day with kids stacked on it at no charge and put a smile on every face. Big guy with a huge heart. Typical of the spirit of the event. Congratulations too, the boys in blue. Two of them showed up for a very short time and kept a low profile.

MotoX events saw about 30 chook chasers flying over the specially constructed course and they sent plenty of dirt squirting, giving us all a pretty good display.

The tat competition turned up some great ink in both the male and female sections. Fireworks went off and then the demolition derby got underway. It was bloody huge! Cars kept rolling in and there were about 30 that contested the 2 categories. What a great show they put on. Worth the entry fee alone! The crowd cheered and groaned and laughed.

Then the Wolverines came on and in between sets the wet t-shirt comp was put on. It was it's usual good fun and thanks ladies for putting a smile on all our faces.

Winners are grinners and the whole community of Dungog were grinning. As it was pointed out all grog and supplies and anything that could be, were sourced in the town and adititonally local charities were winners, from Girl Guides to the Pony Club . Cystic Fibrosis , the main beneficiary of the event also went away smiling.

Congratulations CCAMC and well done. Thanks go to Thommo and his band for yet again making the Thunderbolt Rally, one hell of a memorable event. A good time had by all. As usual, the pictures tell the story!

Don't miss the next one!!!!!!!!
