Barry Sheene Memorial Race Meeting 2006

Promoted by The Post Classic Racing Association of NSW, March 11^th & 12 Eastern Creek Raceway

What a BLINDER!

Over 250 race entries and more than 300 race bikes on the track.  Over 40 race events. There were hundreds of spectator’s bikes parked under the trees by the track. It was nearly impossible to get back into the pits, there were thousands of people checking out the pit garages and race bikes

The Sunday Show and Shine and Swap Meet was very well attended with nearly 100 entries gleaming in the summer sun

The Sunday Swap Meet went off with tons of gear and bikes for sale, there was a SR500 Yamaha that walked out the door for just $300 and several race bikes up for grabs too!

The Northern Rivers Ducati Owners Club ran the Sunday Show and Shine competition, with sponsor’s prizes for just under 20 categories

 Paul Smart who built the Imola Ducati raced during the weekend and had an absolute ball

Robbie Phillis won the Unlimited Forgotten Era race and The Tokyo Express on his 1000 Suzuki

Sam Smith (Norton ES2 500) took out the Two Wheels sponsored Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy

The Bears Formula 1 class was won by Steve Cutting on his MV1000

The New Era classes for road and race bikes built before 1995 was won by Richard Easton

Garry Briggs took home the Motolite honours

In the sidecar class there were wins for Robin Genero, Warrick Levy, Mick Alton and Ross West in the Post Classic, Formula 2, Formula 1 and Forgotten Era sidecar classes

The PCRA NSW would like to thank all sponsors, racers, officials, spectators, helpers and friends for making this meeting a sensational race event and a fitting tribute to the memory of Barry Sheene
