Bikers Australia DD Dice Run 2008

Saturday 30th of August saw Bikers Australia Gilgandra host the Double D’s Mini Dice Run, “Double D’s you say”. That sounds like a hand full for us.

Well sorry to disappoint the crowd but the Double D’s we refer to here are not inside a bra, they are Deanna and Donna ( although one had, and one wants this size).

Here’s where we set out to describe the run we attended and the trip we endured to get ourselves there.

Well as the newest members of Wildcats living on the direct patch of ground that this ride was held on, we can only say the ride from our end of town down to the pub was about three minutes and scenery pretty much the normal for a country town.

Rowdy and Slip had even less distance to travel as they had arrived the previous night and had camped at the Royal Hotel which was where the run was starting, four more cats showed up about 9.30 am being Mon, Tallie, KB and Spider making a total of 8 of us cats.

These girls set out to get the local community involved in a small scale fundraise to assist the local S E S and Hospital, and by small scale they looked at numbers of around thirty, so you can imagine the smiles on their faces when they had sixty seven enrol for the days run.

Warm morning with no clouds in sight set the mood for what could only be a great day for riding.  Kicking off around 10am, Deanna and Donna led the pack for  thunder run through the streets and back down the main, before heading north to our first stop “The Armatree Hotel”.

The pace set by the girls made for a comfortable ride for all and sometimes a surprising one.  At this point in our journey we were notified that our stay at Armatree Hotel could have been an extended one as our dice ladies were having too much fun while driving and missed the turn off.  Could have been interesting and probably one for the history books, or hall of shame?

Three parts of the hour later and we set off again heading for our next stop, the “Collie Hotel” where help yourself BBQ and salad filled the bellies. There was much pushing of a Ducati (we wont mention names will we Mick) before everyone got away

As an added bonus to the great feed put on by Punky and his wife Mary Anne, they donated 50% of the lunch takings back to the cause thanks very much guys.

Drovers Dog Hotel in Eumungerie being our next stop before heading back to the Royal Hotel in Gilgandra.  After the crowd had settled in with a few drinks, Dee and Donna drew the crowds attention toward the prize winners for the day.

We ventured outside to the beer garden to find a Hens night in progress ( see pics) much drinking , spreading of BS and patting of backs was the order of the afternoon. Two new members also signed up for the cats being Neil and Chris.

Tea soon followed then we spent the remainder of the evening bouncing around to tunes played by Bikers Australia’s own D.J. Eckles. Again the consumption of refreshments was in order which lead to what some would call dancing but there were a lot of moves on the floor that had more stagger than dance in them.

Special thanks from the Bikers Fraternity to the Red Hatter Ladies who supported us throughout the day - had heaps of laughs and drank a hell of a lot of wine (Cheers Girls) and all the other locals that joined in.

All the kids who payed up and rolled and some lucky enough to take home prizes.

And Collie Hotel who always go out of their way to assist in all causes - just a great place to stop as well

Dee Donna Mick and myself ventured down to say farewell to the rest of the cats on Sunday morning. Tallies bike refused to start but Mick came to the rescue with a jump start.

So to summarise from a Bikers Australia point of view, GIRLS, PAT YOUR SELVES ON THE BACK for a JOB WELL DONE.

And from a Wildcat member point of view and not to be biased, just read the above again.

See Ya Soon

Dave and Dee
