Stubborn Daisy wouldn't get in the car with Hoke, so he followed her as she walks along the sidewalk, pestering her till she gets in and she orders him to drive so slowly that he mutters to himself, "Might as well be walkin'."

Well Farbio faced the banter, but shock horror!, for just a few fading seconds the headlines read "Daisy's Driver Does Dredgy"

Turn 2 was the teams chosen place to undo their good efforts. Rod was making a great outing of it when he hit it and faded back into the field. Dredgy decided it was as good a place as any to pick up some gravel for the landscaping at home and John figured if they could he could too!

Farbio this time went under the 2 minute mark consistently and had a 1.53 in there which wasn't all bad. This of course was due to some simple coaching.

Palmer: Yeh, there's 2 corners I just can't get right.

Dredgy: Yup. The first 6 and the last 6!

Interviewed after the races Farbio did comment, "Out of all the tracks I've raced on, I like Eastern Creek the best"

So with his debut made he settled into circulating at a good pace and steady improvement came with each lap. Considering that he's done less than 200ks on the bike it wasn't all bad!

well...yeh, some people do get very excited

..............but I guess I should start at the beginning.

Saturday was a practice day which saw an unfortunate incident with two riders both being transported to the nearest hospital. One was serious enough to be taken by chopper and we can only hope they both are ok.

Finally got the clutch problems sorted out on Dredgy's bike but unfortunately due to Farbio's current licence he wasn't able to wear any rubber off his back tyre. So from a team point of view it was a mixed day.

Sunday, the main day arrived with great weather, though sometimes threatening to rain. A fall in the early practice session put the start to racing way behind but finally race they did.

Rod started the day giving the field a run for it's money, but alas that damn turn 2 had it's say but he still finished 5th and Farbio finished 17th in a field of 26.

Wayne then jumped on and in a good race did well turning in 1.47s.

Another one for both Rod and Farbio in an open race and then Rod again in a Formula 1 A & C class.

Then Dredgy went out and was really mixing it. He worked his way through the pack and looked set to take out his class division when alas........turn 2.  He laid it down and luckily wasn't hurt. Farbio went past to complete the race and the records show he beat bike 22 by one place!

Time for Wayne and John to take them out. Wayne circulated in the 1.46 region and John was going very nicely in the 1.42s. But alas.........yup........turn 2! He highsided it and fell hard making a bit of a mess of his foot. Otherwise he came undone in style. Can't beat a decent set of leathers! The track by this time was getting cold and it wasn't easy going for anyone.

Rod and Farbio went out again and did a 1.46 and 1.56 respectively.

It came time for the club to pass out the loot, so we all limped over in sympathy with our leader, and behold!!! Rod picked a trophy up! Well done!

Obviously the bus trip home was a good one..well...we did have to celebrate an addition to the cabinet! Was our duty wasn't it? The singing? Best not go there!

Now for the *don't know nuttin* bit. Some of the bikes are fitted with quick shifts. This tricky little bugga actually kills the motor for a split second when the rider hits the gear leaver making a shift damn quick! No clutch needed! Basically they just hold the throttle open and hoof the gears in!! And surprisingly don't they sound sweet when they do it!

And then there's the tyre warmers. The team uses only the best made by Dragon. These thermostatically controlled electric blankets are a definite must! As most of the races in this comp are only 5 laps there's no time to get tyres up to temp and these things are terrific! Easy to fit and remove they have the tyres to race temp in no time flat!

So now with all this go fast dangfangled stuff you need some stop-fast stuff too! That's where the leathers come in. Again, only the best. Tiger Angel are the go...or is that the stop! Whatever, great protection when you really need it and comfortable to wear! Don't spose Dredgy and John were serious when they reckoned they only wanted to try em out do you? Anyway, they both did a pretty good job of testing them and makes ya realise how damn good they are!

The guys that do the race timing are none other than AMB Australasia, yup, ya got it, owned and run by John. So you can check out all the race times on their web! Great stuff!

Anyway, seeing as I seem to be getting a few wires crossed, the Flying Frog is going to do a few articles as well to set me right on a few things! Hope you enjoy them!

Ok, when's the next one? 28th July? sounds good to me!

More pics as soon as they arrive!
