Damn, there's a fly in my eye! Nope...it's a pig in the sky!
Well done Hells Angels MC! You guys know how to turn on the entertainment! NSW taxpayers were good enough to give us a display of the affluence of this great Nation by supplying us with at least, but no fewer than 14 Police cars, with 2 cops each and at least, and no fewer than 9 police bikes, as well as a chopper in the sky to follow us all. That's about 40 visible cops and probably another lot of co-ordinators on the triple time payroll as well! Naturally I waved thanks to all of them as I passed as it was generous of them to make sure I was safe and sound in such salubrious company. Do I question the decision of the hierarchy to put on this display? No way! We obviously needed it and only fair we get money spent on our safety! The hospitals and schools certainly don't need all the funds you know! What is a measly $50,000 plus after all. A pittance in the overall scheme of things! And you really do have to admire those BMW bikes, they know how to carry a big load! And yes, that is a purple pig you see there. That gave us all a good smile! Entertainment plus! Me being sarcastic? Never!!! Honest officer!
Oh ok then, I admit it. What a complete and senseless waste of public money! Absolutely unjustifiable and totally unnecessary.  What a horrible waste of resources. I'd like to think it funny, or even get angry over it. But in the end I find it just sad.
Will this dissuade people from attending theses runs? Definitely not. The only thing that put them off this year was the weather.

Anyway, enough. Despite the best efforts of the constabulary to make it an unpleasant day, and probably more because of those efforts, we all had a ripper of a day! The weather was all good on the run and it couldn't have been a better atmosphere.

Thanks to Carol and Mike for their contributions and thanks again Hells Angels MC for another good run well handled, and for the opportunity once again to show respect to our Anzac heritage.
