Well we loaded up and headed south for the Victorian State HOG Rally that was held at Queenscliff. After suffering a burst fork seal each, on the same side on our Road Kings, we then rode into the locusts and heads down eventually came out of them after Parkes. Passed a heap of stragglers still coming home after the Ulysses AGM at Geelong the weekend before and we were told that we were lucky, we'd missed the worst of the plague locusts. Anyway we got to Queenscliff no worries on the second day and did all the usual stuff that one does at a HOG Rally. Was a big call to back up so fast after the one they had late last year, but those that went seemed to have a good time. Nice to see bike security back in place but sad that the gymkhana was so limited. Don't know why. Insurance I guess. Overall a smoothly run rally that Victoria is known for! Congrats girls and guys that got the job done!

Anyway.....Sunday morning arrived! We loaded and headed to Phillip Island and the Superbike World Championships. Breakfast on the ferry that runs to Sorrento and then about an hour and a half later we discovered just how many sports bikes there are in Victoria!

Certainly an eye opener and what a day it was! The weather had to fall into the best ever category and to see the Aussies go so well in every department was amazing!!!!!!

That Pierfrancesco Chili was red hot all day (ok, pun intended but I hadda use it)  till there was a sudden change in temperature in the latter part of the second race, that would have given him a sudden gulp of extra air and more power minus a little grip and he ran off right in front of us which let Garry McCoy run through for a well deserved win. It was nearly an Aussie 1,2,3 finish but Steve Martin's bike blew up close to home and we had to settle for 1st, 2nd and 5th. Not bad eh!

What we did witness that was sensational was one Joshua Brookes, a rookie wildcard entry in the Supersport race. He cleaned up the international field in fine style! That has never been done before. It was the first time he's raced over 20 laps and just remember the name! We are going to hear a lot more about this guy!!

Anyway we loaded up on the last lap and headed out. Every roundabout was manned by coppers and at least one Ambulance, some had two! And they weren't there for the fun of it! Road was closed off so it was all one way and any wingers as to how they were treated road wise need to think again! Well done those responsible!

Home safe a few days later, tired but happy. We just have to do it again I tell you!!!!!

Cheers!
