Sturgis - the being there (part 2)
Vendors by the hundreds were selling every conceivable
thing biker related, and it would take a couple of days alone just to check out
their goods, and all the time the main street was just a constant flow of bikes
doing a lap.
Surrounded by the Black Hills, Sturgis is a great taking off point for some fantastic rides to escape from the crowds in the town and campsites, although there are thousands of bikes on these roads at any given time, for the most part, due to the hundreds of kilometres of road available, you really only see the ones coming towards you and the huge crowds at various stops along the way, so you can easily have a nice relaxing cruise admiring the scenery, or just simply pull over for a couple of smokes in a pleasant spot and watch the bikes go past.
