Wakefield Park July 27th 2003 is a day the dredge will never forget!

The meeting started off with the team turning up on Saturday for practice and setup to find a track that reminded the team of a snow storm in Siberian.

Fortunately the team had found a new sponsor who supplied a computerised cappuccino machine and we all decided to stay in the control tower where it was warm and we could all get high on the aroma of freshly ground Coffee Beans.

It was a quite well organised meeting without the mayhem that we are used to when the flying frog is with us! Normally asking questions like Which Way does the track GO!!! And the frantic look on the frogs face when he can’t find his bestest mate Dredgie to hold his hand before entering the circuit.

Saturday night was quite except for Dustin Goldsmith getting locked up for riding his XR50 mini bike around the streets of Goulburn and a report of a few of our Pitt Crew being up as late as 5:00am pissed a nites and hanging out with females old enough to be their mothers, No mention of names but the reported riding number was 72.

OK it’s Sunday and Macdonald’s nervous knowing that the championship is on the line here as he had to win all his races and his team mate Jolly was getting quicker all the time so quick words were seen being issued in the Pitt Area! It was payback time.

The first race was a big start! They all took off tearing into turn one! Macdonald thought he was doing fine coming into the corner in third until the dredge flew past him out braking the team boss into one and then out accelerating him up the hill. Lucky for Macdonald and Jolly! The Dredge allowed the team members past, allowing them to get on with the job at hand.

That left Rutty and Dredgie to do battle with each other during the race with lap times seconds apart.

All was going really well for Dredgie holding a good third position in Formula 2 B Grade when on the first lap of a the second race in formula 2 he came flat out into the turn leading onto the straight (after telling everyone how good he could brake in the pits) grabbed the biggest handful of front brake and stopped the front wheel dead! The only problem was that he was flat out in fourth gear, and you guested it down he went like a bag of shit!!!!

The race was stopped and whilst the ambo’s tried to get the beached whale on the stretcher there was Dredgie still cracking the odd joke about how heavy he really was.

We later all went to the hospital to pick up yet another downed comrade with  Pitt Crew like Gary always caring about ones needs by ensuring that a supply of VB and Bailey’s shooters were smuggled in for the downed rider (Pain Relief).

We got him home dragged his sorry arse in and we LEFT HIM! The next day the Team Manager Mac’a went and collected him for transport to the hospital where it was determined that he had:-

  1. A Broken Right Foot
  2. A Broken Left Foot
  3. A Broken Scaphoid Bone in his Right Wrist (Plaster)
  4. Broken Bones in his Left hand which were operated on to correct (More Plaster)

Now if you take a look at point 3 and 4 you will see that plaster is on both hands and wrists. Therefore the patient is unable to bend the wrist to do many things that we all do everyday.

Uummm Shiiit!!!!how am I going to whip my arse he said to himself.

Therefore we are all pleased to see that Furby (Rutty) in Palmers absents has offered to assist Dredgie with the daily chore of whipping ones arse!!!!

Finally for the racing we are pleased to say that the team Boss has maintained his overall lead in the Series and the young gun Glenn Cullen rode brilliantly winning his class and really showing the boys that they need to look out as he is moving.
