The Wildcats went on a magical mystery tour.......

The mystery ride, so named due to the fact that none of the riders knew any details of the up coming ride until about ten minutes prior to departure when an envelope with details of the first leg of the ride were revealed. As the riders arrived at each designated point, according to the previous envelope, they were given a timed break and then the next envelope was opened to reveal the next destination. This pattern happened throughout the weekend, 14 envelopes in all.

Leaving Walgett saw the first stop at the Wingadee rest area then onto Coonamble for a fuel stop. Some members of the Wildcats, who don't reside in Walgett, met the riders at the fuel stop.  As usual most rides have break downs.  This time it was a battery that needed replacing.  On to Baradine where lunch was had at a local hotel. The pubs pup really enjoyed our visit.  We then proceeded to Coonabarabran for a coffee break at The Top Shop, a local store owned by a couple of Wildcat members.  We were ready to set off on the next leg, only to find that there wasn’t one, Coona was where we were to stop for the night.

The Royal Hotel provided security for the bikes, dinner, a bed and breakfast at a very reasonable price so the group happily paid back the hospitality by propping up the bar, pool tables, dukes box and the publican, who seemed to have a really good time.

Sunday saw an early start as the group headed off to Narrabri, (with a break at a designated rest stop along the way), a quick refuel and then on the road again to Moree where the Amaroo (big airplane) Hotel became the hosts. The run home from Moree saw the group stop near a school halfway between Moree and Collarenebri. Most of the males that rode seemed more interested in watering a section of fence line than looking at the sites.

A quick stop at Collarenebri for fuel and an ice-cream and then back to Walgett.

Arriving back at the Wildcats clubhouse late in the afternoon we were welcomed with a cold beer and some hot food which just topped off a perfect weekend.

The weather was perfect for riding, the company was good and everybody had a great time.

A huge thanks to Physco for her organization skills and the food/grog prepared.  She had a few prizes for some of our efforts during the weekend.
