W.W.W.W.W.W.W.W.W.W.W.W.  Hunter Valley 02

Well Wossco's www.Wandering Walgett Wildcats Wild Wicked & Wonderful Wine Weekend was a wipper!!! Well done Wossco!!!

Friday started with an urgent phone call regarding the state of the weather. No rain for months and a bit had fallen round the traps, which though made for a wet exit, had all fined up by Gunnedah where the western lot rendezvoused. 6 bikes and the backup crew headed east and hit the New England Highway at Willow Tree and met up with another 3 bikes from Tamworth. Off over the hill and into the valley till we picked up Charlie and Kaz and 10 bikes rolled on into Cessnock round 7pm where Preacher, Claire, Nigel & Rae were already waiting for us. 21 cats and 12 bikes with support, an we were ready to mellow. We're a scattered lot. Ted F was the one that came the furthest, and Cyclone came too (but that's another story), and of course Charlie and Kaz didn't have far to come at all!

Want to go to a top pub, biker friendly with lockup garages and top facilities? The Aussie pub in Cessnock is the place! We booked in, settled down to a few quiet ones and had a top feed! One cat, who will remain nameless, put away a dozen oysters in what has to be world record time! Hope they still all worked and he didn't use them up as quickly as he swallowed them Kaz! Michelle and her crew were brilliant in looking after us! A few more quiet ones and the weights had totally lifted, the cobwebs totally cleared and hey! wasn't life good!!

Saturday morning dawned, the bus arrived and on the tasting tour we went. We all called upon our connoisseur type palates to decide the greatest of grapes. We sampled, swirled, sniffed, spat and swallowed, and bucketed! Yup, we took our own bucket. Fu was it's name and as the tastings went on anything we didn't want got passed to Fu who disposed of the said overload in fine form! A very happy chappy and it wasn't midday yet! Again the Aussie excelled in putting on the picnic type lunch and after doing the plastic fantastic on many a shop we loaded for the afternoon tour. Again we sampled, swirled, sniffed, spat and swallowed, and bucketed our way around the vines and all wined out we arrived back at the Aussie in time for a quick snooze or a much needed acidic settler in the liquid form, or both.

The bus arrived as the day faded and off then to an Irish pub in town for a hearty Irish dinner and a bit of entertainment. A good feed settled and few more quiet ones a fair few saw the early hours of the morning. A good night had by all!

Sunday dawned and we went via Broke where they had a Vintage display and markets. An hour there and we headed home on the most perfect of riding days.

Well done Rossco, everything went of brilliantly! The accommodation terrific, the food good, the tour terrific and hey, good company! What could be better! When's the next one?
